Kilsyth Factory Fire – Crews fight massive fire in Melbourne

Fire crews are battling a massive Kilsyth factory fire in Melbourne this afternoon. Images showed the factory contains dozens of gas cylinders.

Live video, streaming below, from television cameras in a chopper above the scene showed fire trucks laying on several houses. Flames threatened a next door building, as well as cars surrounding.

Several cars parked around the Kilsyth factory were also on fire.



The factory in Melbourne’s north-eastern suburbs has forced local authorities to produce several alerts.

This Advice message is being issued for Kilsyth, Kilsyth South, Montrose.

  • There is a large factory fire on Canterbury Road.
    There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

What you should do:

  • Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.
    To prevent the smell of smoke entering your home or business you should close windows and doors.

    Impacts in your area:
    Canterbury Road is closed in both directions.
    Traffic in the area will be affected.

There are currently 17 appliances from CFA and MFB responding with 4 more on the way.

The factory is 30m x 70m with gas bottles believed to be inside.

Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are on scene with police controlling traffic in the area.

The incident was called in at 1:49pm.
