A Melbourne doctor who was asymptomatic with Cornavirus may have been in contact with dozens of patients while shedding the virus.
A Victorian GP is among eight new coronavirus cases in the state, the health department confirmed.
The Doctor had worked at Lilydale Medical Centre, Croydon Family Practice and Cedars Medical Clinic in Coburg while asymptomatic.
“The doctor did not have any symptoms at the time and went into isolation immediately upon being informed they were a close contact of a confirmed case,” DHHS said.
“As the doctor is asymptomatic, the risk of transmission is low, however if anyone is experiencing any symptoms they should get tested and self-isolate.”
The other six cases were overseas arrivals in hotel quarantine and one connected to the Rydges hotel.
On Friday The Age newspaper reported the hotel had not followed proper hygiene with international arrivals.
