Breaking News: Melbourne lockdown rules will be reimposed as coronavirus cases surge in Victoria.
From midnight Sunday night to the 12th of July, new rules will be imposed to restrict gatherings of people at home and in public.
Gatherings will be restricted back to a maximum of ten people in restaurants and pubs.
Expanded capacity arrangements will be postponed.
Premier Andrews said the state would need to impose more lockdown restrictions across the state as people were not following the rules.
The Premier berated Victorians for “not following the health advice.”
”it is unacceptable to pretend that it is (over)”, the Premier said.
The Premier named areas where cases are high: Hume, Brimbank, Casey, Darwin, Moreland and Cardinia.
The number of visitors in homes will be reduced to five from Monday.
25 new cases recorded: 14 linked to known outbreaks, one in hotel quarantine, six are from routine testing, four under investigation.
