Breaking: Panic buying is back in Melbourne today; with toilet paper and other essential items flying off the supermarket shelves.

There are reports many supermarkets across suburban Melbourne are all out of toilet paper as people panic buy over fears of more lockdowns.

Melbourne radio station 3AW fielded calls from across the metropolitan area of people complaining they couldn’t buy essential items in scenes not seen since February and March.

There are fears the covid crisis in Melbourne is going to escalate, with 17 more cases today.

Community transmission is starting to concern the government, with people told too avoid travel to and from certain lock government regions.

People have also been told to stay and work from home if possible until the end of July.
