Breaking: Melbourne will be completely locked down.
Nobody in the metro area can leave their home unless it’s for exercise, shopping and essential jobs and emergencies.
There will be a hard border between Metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
“You cannot leave metropolitan Melbourne,” the Victorian Premier said.
The Premier said people would not be allowed to leave the metropolitan area of Melbourne, effectively trapping 5.5 million in their homes.
The Victorian Premier said the new lockdown would be harsher than the first major stay at home orders.
You must “stay in your actual home,” the Premier said.
People will not be able to travel to a “second home” or holiday home.
Schools
Year 11 and 12 students can stay at school and physically study at school.
Younger children will be able stay home and undertake home learning, unless their parents work in essential services.
Children in lower years will have School holidays extended by about a week.
